Job Description 3D Modeller/Cad EngineerBuntingford, HertfordshireFulltime/PermanentSalary: 40,000 DOEJob PurposeA leading provider of data centre design, supply, build, and managed services is seeking a 3D Modeller / CAD/CAM Engineer to join their engineering team. The role focuses on aisle containment and caging systems, supporting design, manufacturing, and installation within data centres. The position provides exposure to all aspects of engineering, product development, and production processes, assisting senior engineers and management in delivering high-quality solutions.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProduce CAD drawings according to client specifications.Generate production drawings using CAM software.Conduct detailed site surveys in data centres, taking accurate measurements for cage, CAC (Cold Aisle Containment), and HAC (Hot Aisle Containment) layouts.Translate site survey data into precise CAD drawings and production information.Collaborate with design engineers on the design and development of new products, as well as work independently on assigned projects.Support continuous improvement initiatives in products and manufacturing processes.Provide interdepartmental support and communication, ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, and installation teams.Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to data protection regulations and information security standards.Represent the business professionally, upholding company values in interactions with internal teams, clients, and third parties.Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.Excellent planning and organisational skills.Proficient in AutoCAD, able to produce accurate 2D layout and fabrication drawings.Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and/or Radan is an advantage.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Good understanding of engineering principles and product design.Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively at all levels.Flexible and adaptable to different tasks and responsibilities.Formal engineering qualification or equivalent.
