Job Description We are supporting a longestablished UK manufacturing organisation in their search for an organised, commercially minded buyer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highperforming purchasing team within a fastpaced, shortlead production environment. Hybrid working is offered, combining on-site collaboration with the flexibility of working from home.As buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely sourcing of components and consumables, supporting production continuity and driving value across procurement activity. You will be responsible for daytoday purchasing, supplier management and contributing to procurement improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities:Manage and administer purchase orders accurately and efficientlySource, research and evaluate suppliers to achieve best pricing and valueNegotiate and renew local procurement contractsBuild effective working relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholdersMonitor supplier performance and undertake regular reviewsAchieve cost savings in line with business targetsMaintain stock levels and ensure continuity of supplyIdentify and support process improvements within procurementLead and deliver small procurement projectsAdhere to all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of workRequirements for the role:Experience working within a busy procurement function in a manufacturing or processdriven environmentStrong negotiation skills and excellent commercial awarenessConfident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence at all levelsSolid understanding of procurement systems and processes, including effective PO administrationExperience with expediting orders and ensuring timely supplyA track record of working to procurement budgets and savings targetsExperience in process improvement or previous exposure to buying within manufacturing would be beneficial.
