Key Responsibilities:To manage design consultants in order to obtain a detailed design that complies with the programme and the contract with the Client. And to own the design process from end to end. To be responsible within their field of the development of the design by the Consultants.To prepare and chair progress meetings with the Client and the Consultants/Designers as required by the specifications and the Contract. To monitor design growth and look for efficiencies.To develop the design with constructability in mind and to engage with the operations and delivery teams for frequent feedback to ensure designs are fit for delivery purpose.To develop the design with the final operation of the plant in mind and to engage frequently with operations teams (internal and Client's) for feedback to ensure fit for purpose. To collaborate with the Consultants/designers and the Client to get design approved and accepted by the Client in a timely manner (achieving closure of comments). To review specs for field works and surveys and manage subcontractors to deliver the information required for design progress in a timely manner. To review the Consultant's/Designer's programme, and programme updates and collaborate with the project planner to identify areas of concern, validate the information presented by the Consultant and provide advice on how to present the programme progress to the client. To review drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works before commencement.To perform complex mechanical and process engineering work in connection with the engineering design and operations support.Responsibility to provide technical supervision and technical and administrative support and guidance to othersAnalyses, plans, designs, and implements capital projects and other programs; assists other engineering disciplinesServes as the technical lead/subject matter expert in assigned area with responsibility to provide direction to sub-professional and professional staff in a lead capacity.Verify Equipment Data SheetNegotiating project and product terms with vendorsImplementing designs and plans for the construction stageResponsible for planning & managing the delivery of the design elements of the project (including resource time and cost)Managing risk regarding the design and future compliance with performance and commissioning Skills and CompetenceBSc/BEng qualified in the stated discipline.Water industry projects experience.( min 7 years)Sewage treatment works project experience.Previous experience with delivering design for TWUL Capital Projects under the Capital Delivery Stage Gate Process particularly for Stages 3 to 5. Previous experience in handing over sewage treatment plants from a design point of view (in design stage and in construction stage).Previous experience in designing for specs. performance compliance and target cost contracts.Previous experience in delivering design for sewage treatment plants upgrades.
