Job Description Construction Disputes Lawyer Locations: Thames Valley (Hybrid Working)Practice Area: Construction DisputesOverview:An excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing construction disputes team within a highly regarded, multi-office law firm. The team is known for delivering clear, commercially focused advice to a broad client base across the UK and is continuing to expand due to increased demand. The firm is looking to hire two Construction Lawyers at varying levels, making this a strong opportunity for both junior lawyers looking to specialise and more experienced practitioners seeking high-quality work within a supportive environment.The RoleYou will join a busy and dynamic construction disputes team, working on a wide range of contentious construction matters and advising clients throughout the lifecycle of projects.Key responsibilities include:Advising clients on construction contracts, particularly the JCT suite, with a practical and commercial focusHandling a broad range of disputes, including:Defective worksPayment disputes (interim and final accounts)Delay claims (extensions of time, loss and expense, liquidated damages)Claims involving third-party security arrangementsManaging cases in the High Court and Technology and Construction Court (TCC)Engaging in ADR processes, including mediation and adjudicationProviding strategic, real-time advice during live construction projects to minimise riskSupporting clients in both bringing and defending claimsCollaborating with colleagues and contributing to client training and industry updatesCandidate ProfileQualified Solicitor with experience in construction disputes (open on level NQ through to Senior Associate)Experience advising on construction contracts (ideally JCT)Exposure to disputes involving defects, payments, delays, and liquidated damagesExperience with TCC matters and ADR processes is advantageousStrong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectivelyCollaborative, client-focused approach with a proactive mindsetWhats on OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageHybrid and flexible working arrangementsHigh-quality, complex work with strong client exposureClear and structured career progressionSupportive, inclusive, and collaborative cultureOngoing training and development, including industry and legislative updatesWhy Consider This Role?This is a great opportunity to join a growing construction disputes team with a strong reputation in the market.
