Service Care Solutions, are currently seeking a qualified Solicitor to join the Housing branch of the Scottish Government Legal Directorate (SGLD) on a fixed-term basis. n this role, you will provide expert legal advice to Scottish Ministers on a broad range of housing and homelessness matters. You will play a key part in supporting the implementation of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2026, particularly the tenants’ rights provisions, as well as advising on homelessness legislation and the operation of the short-term lets licensing regime.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality legal advice on housing and homelessness lawSupport the implementation of tenants’ rights provisions under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2026Advise on homelessness legislation and policy developmentAnalyse complex information and legislation to inform decision-makingAbout You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:Must be a Scottish qualified Solicitor.A strong understanding of public and administrative law in Scotland, with confidence working with legislationKnowledge of human rights law, or a willingness to develop expertise in this areaExcellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information and provide clear, well-reasoned legal adviceLocation: Victoria Quay, EdinburghContract: 1 June 2026 – 31 August 2026 (with potential 6-month extension)Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday–Friday)Minimum salary: £62,111( open to candidate setting their own)ROLE CLOSES TUESDAY 5th - 9AM
