Experienced Family Solicitor – Edinburgh (Hybrid)Location: Edinburgh OfficeFirm: Top Legal 500Position: Senior Associate/Legal DirectorAbout the Role:Simpson Judge have partnered with a leading Scottish Legal 500 firm who are looking for an experienced Family Solicitor to join their team in Edinburgh. This is a senior-level opportunity suited to a confident, self-sufficient lawyer with a strong background in family law and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.You’ll manage a diverse and complex caseload covering areas such as divorce, child law, adoption, surrogacy, cohabitation, and financial provision. Alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation, FLAGS arbitration, and collaborative law are actively supported.Key Responsibilities:Independently manage a broad family law caseload.Provide strategic advice across all areas of family law, including complex and sensitive matters.Represent clients in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.Draft and negotiate legally binding agreements.Build and maintain trusted client relationships.Supervise and mentor junior team members.Collaborate with other internal departments for cross-referrals.Actively engage in business development, including writing, presenting, and networking.Drive innovation and efficiencies within the department.What We’re Looking For:Minimum 6 years' PQE in family law.Demonstrable leadership and mentoring capabilities.Strong commercial acumen and client-focused approach.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable working both independently and within a team.What's on offer?Join one of Scotland’s respected family law teams.Supportive, values-driven working environment.Opportunity to contribute to departmental growth and innovation.Engage in high-quality work with local, national, and international clients.If this of interest please get in touch with Rory Brand today at Simpson Judge for a highly confidential chat.
