Eden Scott’s client is seeking a Data Transformation Manager to join Financial Services company in Edinburgh The successful individual will play a vital role in transforming data to deliver operational efficiencies to manual business-as-usual processes and provide insights through data mining and analysis to support business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to collect, analyse, and interpret datasets, primarily using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, for data preparation and process automation.Main ResponsibilitiesLiaise with third-party intermediaries’ technical teams (e.g., fund managers, transfer agents, clients, platform providers, vendors) to resolve data quality and consistency issues.Contribute to efficiency initiatives, including the rollout of ServiceNow as a customer self-service and workflow management tool across multiple locations.Support existing workflows, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate on data architecture and infrastructure enhancements as required.Adhere to risk and compliance policies and procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation.Support the team in tactical enhancements, delivering business efficiency and system modernisation in line with strategic objectives.Ensure data is accurately structured and managed using appropriate solutions and tools to support business processes.Extract, clean, and manipulate data from various sources (SQL databases, spreadsheets, flat files, etc.).Design, build, and maintain workflows for data preparation, transformation, and automation.Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver insightful reports and dashboards.Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security of developed solutions, documenting processes and methodologies and supporting testing, deployment, and maintenance of data solutions.Continuously look for ways to optimise and automate recurring data processes.Liaise with the Information Technology team to ensure technology changes are consistent with group objectivesPerson SpecificationPrevious experience in a data analyst or similar role from Financial ServicesUnderstanding of best practices for structuring data, including centralised data layers and integration layers.Skilled in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and database management, with relevant Microsoft certification.Familiarity with data visualisation platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to data quality.Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.Positive “can-do” attitude and ability to see tasks through to completion.Eden Scott offers the services of an employment agency for permanent work and an employment business for temporary work.This position may be just one of numerous opportunities we are handling that you could have an interest in pursuing.
