POLICY & ADVOCACY MANAGER – EDINBURGHPART TIME (2/3 days per week)£240pd – INSIDE IR357 MONTHS INITIAL CONTRACT Loriens Public Sector client requires the expertise of an experienced Policy & Advocacy Manager for an initial 7 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for:Conducting a desk-based literature review of the evidence regarding services available to consumers in ScotlandIdentifying priority consumer issues in relation to access to public goods and services based on the above reviewIdentifying the key levers, options and opportunities for tackling these issuesProviding suggestions surrounding to approach future work including a suggested programme of future policy and advocacy work to address the issues identified aboveProducing a report, of publishable quality, outlining the issues affecting consumers in relation to public services with initial recommendations for action to address these issues Essential Skills / ExperienceA track record of leading advocacy and policy workExperience in conducting desk based research and producing literature reviews and other evidence-based outputsKnowledge of regulated sectors in Scotland, with knowledge of the telecommunications and media sector desirable OR knowledge of service user experience of the public sector in ScotlandComfortable working independently at pace and to tight deadlinesExperience of working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
