MOT Technician Southampton Pay: From 35,000.00 per year Job Description: Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires the ability to perform heavy lifting and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Conduct MOT tests on various vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, and emissions systems Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, providing accurate reports on findings Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as needed Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations Keep up-to-date with current legislation and best practices related to vehicle testing Requirements Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections and repairs Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills Valid MOT Tester certification is preferred but not essential for the right candidate willing to undergo training A commitment to providing high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction What's On Offer Salary: Negotiable, starting from 30,000 minimum, depending on experience & qualifications 30 days holiday (including bank holidays) Company pension scheme Staff discounts on garage purchases Family & Friends discounts Extra discounts through Bright (holidays & lifestyle purchases) Access to medical advice services Working Hours Monday Friday: 08:00 17:00 Alternate Saturdays: 08:00 13:00 Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Company pension Employee discount TPBN1_UKTJ
