You possess recent experience in dealing with licensing matters, including the Licensing Act 2003, and potentially have experience as a legal adviser to sub-committees. Ideally, you have at least 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) and are motivated by delivering high-quality legal support and advice in criminal law and local government law. What the Job Involves As a Special Projects Lawyer specializing in Prosecutions, you will support the Senior Prosecutions Lawyer by providing cost-effective, high-quality prosecution services. Your responsibilities include preparing pleadings, representing the council in various legal settings, advising on legislative changes, and engaging in tasks and projects as assigned. You will maintain effective relationships with client departments, ensure adherence to council policies, and contribute to corporate projects and committees. Participation in the recruitment and supervision of staff as directed is also part of your role. Skills Proficiency in local government law and criminal litigation Experience with licensing matters, particularly Licensing Act 2003 Strong advocacy and representation skills Ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders Familiarity with legal research and staying updated on legislative changes Competence in information technology systems relevant to legal work
