Who You Are You are an experienced legal professional with recent experience in local government prosecutions and criminal litigation. You have a background in dealing with licensing matters, including the Licensing Act 2003, and ideally, have experience acting as a legal adviser to sub-committees. You possess at least 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) and are looking for a role that offers you the opportunity to support high-quality prosecution services in a local government setting. What the job involves The role involves supporting the Senior Prosecutions Lawyer by providing high-quality legal advice and advocacy in areas of criminal and local government law. You will undertake the preparation and representation of the Council in courts, tribunals, and inquiries. The position also requires advising the Council on legislative changes, liaising with professional bodies, and maintaining effective relationships with client departments. Additionally, you will assist in the recruitment and supervision of legal staff and contribute to corporate projects and initiatives. Flexibility and adherence to the Councils policies and targets are essential to this role.
