Job Title: Electrical Design EngineerLocation: BristolSalary: £48,000 - £52,000 DOEAbout the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking engineering consultancy working across complex, high-integrity systems in sectors such as defence, aerospace, energy, and advanced technology.This is an opportunity to be part of a highly skilled engineering team delivering detailed electrical designs from concept through to final delivery, supporting innovative projects across safety-critical industries.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and produce electrical system designs, including block diagrams, schematics, wiring schedules, and cable calculationsDefine component specifications and carry out equipment selection for electrical hardwareSupport design reviews, internal verification, and compliance to relevant industry standards (e.g. BS7671, IEC, DEF STAN, etc.)Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to deliver fully integrated solutionsGenerate documentation including Bills of Materials (BoMs), technical files, test specifications, and support documentation for CE/UKCA markingContribute to the preparation of project estimates, proposals, and risk assessmentsAssist in the commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems as neededWhat We’re Looking ForDegree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineStrong background in electrical design for complex systemsProficiency in CAD software for electrical schematics (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar)Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, BS EN 60204, etc.)Strong attention to detail and documentation skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesDesirable SkillsExperience working in safety-critical sectors such as defence, nuclear, aerospace, or energyUnderstanding of systems engineering and lifecycle documentationChartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (IET or similar)
