PAYE: 23.59 p/h + Overtime 40.25 hours average 12/7 Shift Pattern Morson are exclusively recruiting About the Role GKN Aerospace is recruiting CNC Machinists for its advanced composite manufacturing facility at Western Approach. The site produces carbon fibre wing spars for major aircraft platforms including the A350 and A400M. This position is suited to CNC machinists with composite or metallic machining backgrounds, looking to work with modern CNC router and 5?axis technology. A Level 3 Apprenticeship (NVQ or City & Guilds) is essential. Shift Pattern 12/7 Shift 40.25 hours per week (average over 2 weeks) Training Period (12 weeks): Monday to Friday, 07:0015:00 Training Rate: 18.43 p/h Core Shift Nights (post-training): Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 06:0018:00 Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday 06:0018:00 (occasionally 07:0019:00) Pay Rates Standard: 23.59 p/h PAYE Weekday Overtime: 27.65 p/h Weekend Overtime: 36.86 p/h Training Days: 18.43 p/h Key Responsibilities Manufacture and machine composite and metallic aircraft components up to 15 metres Operate CNC routers and 5?axis Zimmerman drilling/fettling gantry machines Use Renishaw probing systems and cutter tool? xjdpvnf setting equipment Load and set fixtures and tooling on CNC machinery Work to aircraft drawings, specifications and quality standards Follow Health & Safety, COSHH and risk assessment procedures Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities Work effectively within small operational teams Undertake training in advanced composite manufacturing techniques Requirements Level 3 Apprenticeship (NVQ or City & Guilds) mandatory 35 years CNC machining experience (composite or metallic) Experience setting and operating CNC machines, routers or gantries Siemens 840D knowledge beneficial but not essential Ability to interpret drawings and work to tight tolerances Good communication skills and strong attention to detail Able to work night shift patterns What This Role Offers Long?term ongoing contract Work with modern aerospace CNC machinery Competitive pay with strong overtime rates Training and development opportunities Opportunity to contribute to major global aircraft programmes
