Job Description Head of Client PayrollCan be based in: Manchester / Birmingham / Bristol / Reading - Hybrid working offeredPackage: 80-105K +BonusWe are supporting a global professional services organisation on the appointment of a Head of Client Payroll within their delivery function.This role sits within a growing payroll services team and reports into senior leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in both client delivery and supporting the continued growth of the function.This is not a traditional payroll operations role its a commercially focused, client-facing position combining delivery, client management and business growth.Head of Client Payroll Key ResponsibilitiesLead delivery across a portfolio of complex, multi-country client payrollsAct as a senior escalation point for clients owning relationships and outcomesManage and develop a distributed payroll team (UK and offshore)Oversee service quality, governance, risk and financial performance across accountsSupport contract negotiations, commercials and service scope discussionsPartner with senior stakeholders internally and externally to drive successful deliveryContribute to the growth of the function through client expansion, referrals and market activityDrive process improvement and challenge existing ways of workingHead of Client Payroll Candidate ProfileStrong payroll background within a client-facing, commercial environmentExperience operating within consultancy, vendor or payroll services environments preferredProven ability to manage senior client relationships and handle escalationsCommercially aware comfortable with revenue, margin and service deliveryExperience leading teams, ideally across multiple locationsConfident operating in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong communication skills with the ability to influence and challengeNot suited to candidates from purely operational / bureau payroll backgroundsThis is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to step beyond traditional payroll operations into a more commercial, client-led leadership position.JGA are dedicated to delivering the best possible candidate experience.
