Job DescriptionJob Title: Crane Inspector Nuclear ProjectLocation: BristolContract Type: Contract - Outside IR35Role Overview:Responsible for the inspection and oversight of cranes and lifting equipment on a nuclear construction site, ensuring compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and project safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Inspect cranes (mobile, tower, crawler, overhead), MEWPs, HiAbs, telehandlers, and lifting accessories.Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121, and site-specific lifting procedures.Review and validate lift plans, RAMS, and equipment certifications.Maintain inspection records and report findings with recommendations.Liaise with lifting teams, contractors, and safety personnel.Support incident investigations and QA audits.Qualifications & Experience:Education: HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 equivalent.Certifications: LEEA (Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent); CPCS/NPORS Appointed Person (desirable).Experience:5+ years inspecting cranes and lifting equipment.Strong knowledge of LOLER/PUWER.Experience with HiAbs, MEWPs, and various crane types.Additional Requirements:Nuclear clearance (or ability to obtain).CSCS card required.Physically fit and able to access elevated/confined areas.Flexible with working hours and shifts.
