Heavy Plant Lead Engineer Bristol Area Salary: 2324 per hour | Hours: 40 per week NEOS Engineering are seeking an experienced Heavy Plant (Lead Engineer) to join a busy operations team, overseeing the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy plant machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who takes pride in ensuring machinery is safe, reliable, and operational to meet production schedules. Key Responsibilities Lead the maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy plant machinery, including excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and ancillary equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently. Oversee preventative maintenance schedules to maximise uptime and extend asset life. Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technicians, allocating workloads and ensuring high standards of work. Maintain accurate service records, compliance logs, and parts inventories. Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety regulations, site policies, and operational procedures. Collaborate with operations teams to plan machinery requirements and minimise downtime. Required Skills & Experience Extensive experience working on heavy plant machinery in a workshop and on-site environment. Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge. Proven ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of plant equipment efficiently. Experience leading or supervising a small team of technicians. Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, LOLER, PUWER, and other compliance standards. Strong organisational and communication skills. Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to multiple sites within the Bristol area. Benefits Competitive hourly rate: 2324 based on a 40-hour week.
