Job Description What's the OpportunityWe are looking for a Principal Engineer to further expand our team and lead projects. We offer a range of projects for both public and private sector clients with schemes varying from typical commercial developments up to large scale infrastructure and complex development schemes.What you need to do to be effective in this roleAbility to lead projects of various sizes and complexityManage resources to ensure effective and timely delivery of workInterface with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects i.e. architects, building services engineers, project managers and cost managersUndertake project administration and financial managementIdentify new opportunities for work and prepare proposals for tenderRepresent Ridge through external liaison with Clients, stakeholders and approving bodiesManage and co-ordinate highways and drainage designs relating to large development infrastructure projectsProvide Pre-planning advice and services to client including Flood Risk Assessments (FRA's), Drainage Strategies, and other Pre-Planning adviceProvide day-to-day client interface, conducting site visits for technical assessment or problem-solvingThe skills and experience you need to have for this roleExperience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-disciplinary organisationIdeally be professionally qualified as a chartered engineer (CEng) or keen to become charteredA member of (or an aspiration to become a member of) the Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.) or equivalent relevant professional bodyGood working knowledge of AutoCAD and in particular Civil 3DA competent user of Infodrainage is desirableDesign experience with proven post-graduation experience that will be discussed at interviewExperience in drainage (foul and surface) and minor roadway designA good understanding of section 38, 278 (Highways Act) and section 104, 106 and 185 (Water industry Act) agreementsExperience with designing a wide range of projects from conception through to completion (including calculations, drawings and specifications)Familiar with Part H and M of Building Regulations, British Standards and local authority requirementsFamiliarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and its application within civil engineeringA solid understanding of drainage design, SUDS, highways, cut and fill analysisBe proficient at design and happy to participate in productive workTechnical skills, knowledge and experience to find creative solutions for even the most complex challenges and the ability to communicate these clearly to all parties.Experience of leading project teams.JBRP1_UKTJ
