Job Description A globally recognised independent construction consultancy is seeking an Electrical Consultant Engineer to join their team in the Southwest and South Wales regions. With a legacy spanning over two centuries, the firm has delivered award-winning projects across public, environmental, commercial, and educational sectors. Projects in the region range from 5 million to over 100 million, offering exposure to high-value and technically challenging work. This role provides the opportunity to join a collaborative, professional team dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions that make a lasting impact.The roleThe Electrical Consultant Engineer will provide technical expertise across all stages of building projects. Key responsibilities include:Undertaking project feasibility studies and detailed electrical design from RIBA Stage 0 to 4Producing technical drawings and complete electrical tender packagesMonitoring electrical works on-site and reporting on conformity and qualityConducting condition surveys, pre-acquisition assessments, dilapidation surveys, and planned preventative maintenanceActing as a technical advisor to clients and supporting contractor designsEnsuring work is carried out efficiently, complying with internal processes, commercial and contractual strategies, and Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality standardsCollaborating closely with internal project teams and supporting the growth of the in-region M&E serviceAbout youThe ideal candidate will hold a BSc in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, alongside a recognised M&E qualification. Chartered status, or a willingness to obtain MCIBSE or equivalent, is essential. You will have a proven track record in a similar consultancy or site engineering role, with experience in independent electrical design from RIBA Stage 0 to 4. Strong skills in asset surveying, condition assessments, and technical due diligence are expected.You should also have:Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam, with REVIT experience advantageousExcellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence in client-facing interactionsA proactive, well-organised, commercially aware approach, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a teamA full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Southwest and South WalesCommitment to supporting the growth of the in-region M&E serviceWhat the company offersThe company provides a competitive salary between 50,000 - 60,000, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
