Job Description Managing Director Manufacturing (Private Equity Backed)Bristol Area | 120130k + Bonus + PackageAxel Monroe are supporting a private equity backed manufacturing business with the appointment of a Managing Director to lead the next phase of its commercial growth.The business currently generates circa 5-10m in annual turnover and is a well-run, stable organisation with strong operational foundations and a solid reputation within its market. With an established customer base and a very capable operational team already in place, the business is well positioned for its next stage of development.With the company now operating from a position of operational stability, the investors are seeking a commercially focused Managing Director who can accelerate revenue growth, strengthen the companys market presence and unlock additional opportunities within the sector.Working closely with the private equity stakeholders and the existing leadership team, the successful candidate will take ownership of the commercial direction of the business. The focus of the role will be on developing the companys sales capability, expanding its customer base and ensuring the organisation fully capitalises on its manufacturing capability.This role requires a leader with a strong commercial background who remains comfortable operating close to customers, markets and new business activity. The business has clear potential to grow beyond its current 5-10m turnover and the incoming Managing Director will play a key role in delivering that next stage of expansion.Responsibilities will include:Developing and delivering a clear commercial strategy focused on sustainable revenue growthIdentifying and securing new business opportunities across existing and new marketsStrengthening the companys sales approach, pipeline management and conversion performanceBuilding and maintaining relationships with key customers and strategic partnersLeading and developing the commercial and sales capability within the businessWorking closely with operational teams to ensure commercial opportunities align with manufacturing capacityImproving commercial reporting, forecasting and financial visibilityCollaborating with the private equity stakeholders and Board to drive long-term value creationWe are keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate:Experience operating at Managing Director, Commercial Director or Sales Director level within a manufacturing or industrial environmentA strong commercial and sales background, with a track record of winning and developing new businessExperience working within SME organisations where a hands-on approach is requiredThe ability to develop and execute commercial growth strategiesStrong relationship-building skills with customers, partners and stakeholdersA commercially focused mindset with the credibility to lead and grow a manufacturing businessThis represents an excellent opportunity to lead a well-run manufacturing business with private equity backing and a clear growth agenda.Candidates should be available to start within the next three months.
