Job Description Managing Quantity SurveyorUtilities / Infrastructure | Sussex | Hybrid WorkingThe OpportunityAn established infrastructure delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of a long-term utilities framework across Sussex. This senior position offers a blend of strategic responsibility and hands-on leadership, with hybrid working available (23 days per week based in Brighton).You will work closely with a major water-sector client while leading a high-performing commercial team. The role is central to driving commercial performance, managing contractual risk, and ensuring strong financial control across multiple workstreams.As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in operational decision-making and commercial strategy, supporting successful project delivery and long-term profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading, mentoring, and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial support staffProviding senior commercial leadership across live contracts and frameworksEnsuring compliance with contractual obligations and protection of commercial entitlementDeveloping and implementing commercial strategies to improve project performance and marginsManaging project budgets, forecasts, cost control, and financial reportingOverseeing cost value reconciliation (CVR) and effective cash flow managementSupporting and leading commercial negotiations with clients and supply chain partnersManaging and resolving complex commercial matters, including variations, claims, and final accountsEnsuring subcontract and supplier agreements are commercially robust and aligned with business objectivesAbout YouYou will be a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in the utilities or infrastructure sector.
