Job Description Director of EnforcementThe Pensions Regulator (TPR)Brighton / Hybrid | Senior Leadership TeamAs Director of Enforcement, you will lead a critical function protecting millions of pension savers and driving confidence in the UKs pensions system. This is a highprofile, strategic leadership role where enforcement is not just about casework, but about shaping behaviours, addressing systemic risk, and aligning regulatory action with policy intent.TPR is transforming into a more supervisory, intelligenceled and riskbased regulator. You will play a central role in modernising enforcementintegrating intelligence, supervision, policy and market oversight to ensure the right regulatory outcome is achieved, whether through formal action or alternative regulatory intervention.This is a rare opportunity to reset and strengthen enforcement, lead expert multidisciplinary teams, and influence the future of pensions regulation at a national level.This role will report to the Executive Director of Enforcement & Legal Group, Gaucho Rasmussen, and will be part of an important cadre of Director level leaders working together to align the strategic aims and priorities of the divisions in order to work cohesively across the organisation. The opportunityLead a major enforcement and intelligence function (c. 60 professionals)Be a visible leader, ambassador and influencer across the pensions ecosystemAlign enforcement priorities with emerging regulatory regimes, including the DB Funding Code, dashboards, Value for Money and the General CodeChampion proportionate, outcomesbased regulation as part of TPRs collective leadership modelRepresent TPR confidently with industry, government and lawenforcement partnersWhat youll doLead, motivate and develop a highperforming, multidisciplinary enforcement and intelligence functionOversee complex, highrisk investigations and tribunallevel litigationEmbed new regulatory regimes, ways of working and cultural changeEnsure enforcement activity is strategic, targeted and aligned with organisational prioritiesManage budgets, resources and external providers effectivelyBuild trusted relationships across TPR and with external stakeholdersProvide calm, decisive leadership in highpressure and highprofile situationsLocation & rewardLocation: Brighton (hybrid minimum 8 days per month in office)Salary: Starting from 128,500, plus an outstanding benefits package including:Civil Service Pension (average employer contribution 28.97%)Discretionary bonus30 days annual leaveEnhanced parental leaveDevelopment opportunities and wellbeing supportMinimum CriteriaStrong people management and leadership skills proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire large teams and be a collaborative member of the organisations senior leadership team as well as experience in tackling performance issues to build high performing teamsExtensive experience in enforcement, major cases and/or investigationsExcellent stakeholder management skills, with evidenced experience influencing internally and externallyDemonstrates an understanding of the regulatory and political environment in which TPR operatesEssential CriteriaGood technical understanding of the overall regulatory framework in the UK, and TPRs place within itProven experience in complex investigations and tribunal / litigation processesNegotiating and influencing skills to deploy internally and externallyBudget management experience and experience of managing external resources and multidisciplinary teamsA track record in delivering results against business prioritiesAbility to form strong working relationships across different business areas and to set joint goals for deliveryRobustness in the face of challenge, ability to make decisions in a rapid and balanced wayDesiredUnderstanding of pensions law, trust law and enforcement powers (not essential)Experience in a systems regulator
