Job DescriptionJob Title: Office ManagerLocation: Onsite Brighton, UKCompany: The Chinese Room (A BAFTA award-winning game development studio)Job Type: Full-time (35 hours/week, Flexi-time available)About Us:The Chinese Room is a multi award-winning game development studio known for crafting rich, narrative-driven experiences such as Dear Esther, Everybodys Gone to the Rapture, and Still Wakes the Deep and tthe upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade, Bloodlines 2. Based in Brighton, we pride ourselves on creativity, collaboration, and a strong studio culture.We're seeking an experienced and highly organised Office Manager to join our team located in the heart of the laines to help support our operations, HR, and leadership functions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the heart of our studio.Key Responsibilities:Full management of studio facilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environmentHealth & Safety compliance, including conducting and maintaining:Risk assessmentsDSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessmentsExpectant mothers assessmentsEvent risk assessmentsBookkeeping duties usingXero(experience essential)HR support, including onboarding and offboarding, policy updates, employee engagement, and general HR administrationPersonal Assistant duties for the Studio MD, including travel, hotel, and conference bookingsEvent planning and coordination for internal and external studio eventsProcessing invoices, liaising with suppliers and external vendorsGeneral administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operationsKeeping the studio neat, tidy, and well-stocked with suppliesRequired Skills & Experience:Proven experience in a similar Office Manager, OperationsSolid HR experience, HRIS systems, including knowledge of onboarding, offboarding, and policy managementExcellent organisational and multitasking skillsAbility to handle sensitive information with discretionStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeNice to Have:Strong experience withXeroaccounting softwareExperience in the games, tech, or creative industriesKnowledge of UK employment law or H&S compliance best practicesExperience working in a fast-paced, dynamic studio environmentWhat We Offer:Full-time, 35-hour work week with flexible hoursA vibrant, creative work environment at our Brighton studioThe opportunity to work with a passionate and award-winning teamEmployee engagement initiatives and studio eventsCompetitive salary (based on experience)How to Apply:Please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role to [email protected] Were committed to building a diverse, inclusive workplace and encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
