Quantity Surveyor

Role summary Were recruiting a Groundworks Quantity Surveyor to join a mid-sized subcontractor delivering Groundworks / Civils packages across Yorkshire and the North East. Working closely with site and delivery teams, youll take ownership of commercial performance across live projects from valuations and CVRs through to change control and final accounts. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Managing director, with a flexible start date. Location: (Yorkshire) | Contract: Permanent | Start: Flexible | Salary: Competitive + package Key responsibilities Manage project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly CVR reporting Prepare and agree applications for payment, client valuations and commercial updates Lead subcontract procurement: enquiries, comparisons, negotiations and package letting Control change / variations (including compensation events where applicable), ensuring timely notices and robust substantiation Support project teams with commercial input to programme, productivity, and risk management Produce and negotiate final accounts with clients and supply chain Complete take-offs, measurement from drawings, BOQs, remeasures and cost build-ups Maintain accurate records and ensure contract compliance across JCT (and NEC where used) What were looking for Proven QS experience within New build and commercial groundworks and civils. Good working knowledge of earthworks, roads and sewers, 278 works, drainage including pumping stations, attenuation tanks and 106 connections, plot works including foundations, plot drainage, floor slabs and external works.
