This vital role involves implementing monitoring programs and maintaining compliance with environmental and health standards on the UK's largest construction site. You'll be responsible for providing hands-on technical assistance to the EHS Team, ensuring the site operates safely, sustainably, and efficiently while serving as the primary point of contact for contractors regarding occupational health and environmental concerns.Responsibilities: Perform occupational and environmental monitoring including air quality, noise, vibration, and dust samplingSet up, calibrate, and maintain monitoring equipment for accurate data collectionAssist in conducting weld fume monitoring and implementing control measuresSupport COSHH compliance by assessing and monitoring hazardous substancesConduct routine inspections to verify adherence to site standardsProvide technical support for exposure control strategies and PPE/RPE implementationCollect and analyse data to identify trends and generate detailed management reportsSupport delivery of toolbox talks and training sessionsAssist in incident investigations and root cause analysisMaintain accurate records of monitoring activities and inspectionsCollaborate with contractors and project teams to maintain high standardsSpend 80% of time on-site engaging with contractors and teams Experience Required: STEM or related qualification (Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or Engineering)Experience in environmental or occupational health monitoringFamiliarity with COSHH and UK health/environmental regulationsStrong technical aptitude with monitoring equipmentGood analytical skills for data interpretation and report writingEffective communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated with strong attention to detailProven time management abilitiesExperience in construction environments Desirable Qualifications: Occupational Health M500 series modulesPrevious experience in large-scale construction projectsTraining delivery experienceData analysis and reporting expertiseExperience with environmental management systems Salary, Hours & Location: Site-based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset£35,000 PALong Term, Full time This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the UK's largest construction project while developing your career in occupational hygiene and environmental management.
