As our lifting and installation activities continue to expand, we are seeking qualified and experienced Riggers to support safe and efficient execution of moving loads, steel positioning, and plant installation works.The RoleThe Rigger is responsible for the safe lifting, positioning, and securing of steel structures, plant, and mechanical equipment on industrial construction sites. You will work closely with Appointed Persons, Crane Operators, Site Managers, and Engineering Teams to ensure all lifting operations are executed in compliance with approved lift plans, RAMS, and UK safety regulations.This role requires formal qualifications and demonstrable competency in moving loads and lifting operations, as defined below.Key ResponsibilitiesLifting Operations & Load ControlRigging & Slinging Activities: Prepare, attach, guide, and secure loads using appropriate lifting accessories including slings, shackles, chains, beams, and specialist lifting gear.Load Positioning & Placement: Assist in the controlled movement and final positioning of steel structures, plant, and equipment in line with method statements and lift plans.Pre-Lift Checks: Inspect lifting accessories and equipment prior to use, ensuring certification, condition, and suitability for the task.Signalling & Communication: Provide clear and accurate signals to crane operators in accordance with site procedures and standard hand signals.Safety & ComplianceRAMS Compliance: Follow approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all lifting and moving load activities.Equipment Inspection & Reporting: Report defective lifting equipment, unsafe conditions, or deviations from planned lifting operations.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure lifting operations comply with LOLER, PUWER, and relevant UK construction and safety standards.Housekeeping & Load Security: Maintain safe work areas during lifting operations and ensure loads are secured prior to release.Qualifications & Competency RequirementsLevel 3 Apprenticeship in Moving Loads, Lifting and Positioning Steel Structures, Plant or Equipment, or Steel Erection; orMinimum Level 3 Diploma in Moving Loads, Lifting and Positioning Steel Structures, Plant or Equipment, or Steel Erection; orACE Card in Moving Loads.Minimum of 5 years experience in a Rigger role within industrial construction environments.Who Were Looking ForWe are seeking disciplined and safety-focused Riggers with strong practical experience in moving loads and steel positioning within industrial environments.
