Toolmaker Engineering Technician Bridgwater 37,000PA (Days) 42,000 (Shifts) This hands-on role focuses on precision toolmaking to tight tolerances, supporting production agility, equipment reliability, and site safety. By ensuring tools are manufactured to exacting standards and delivered on time, the role enables the business to respond rapidly to new orders and designs while maintaining the highest levels of quality and efficiency. Roles and Responsibilities High-Precision Toolmaking: Manufacture and refurbish high-precision, low-tolerance tooling to technical drawings using manual and CNC workshop equipment, including XYZ ProTrak machines. Tool Design & Development: Collaborate with design teams to interpret engineering drawings and develop new tooling solutions that support evolving products, machinery, and processes. Innovation & Problem Solving: Provide timely, creative engineering solutions to manufacturing challenges. Propose and implement innovations to improve tooling and production processes. Workshop Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment through proactive housekeeping and strict adherence to safety protocols. Provide support to maintenance team activities when requested. Experience Proven experience in precision machining, tool design, and fabrication. Skilled in high-precision, low-tolerance toolmaking. Experience with CNC and manual machining, particularly on XYZ ProTrak machines. Competencies Manual & CNC milling and turning (with emphasis on XYZ ProTrak desirable). High attention to detail and ability to work to extremely tight tolerances. Strong task prioritisation and time management skills. Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
