Job DescriptionCould you be the missing piece in our governance jigsaw?We are looking for a committed, values-driven individual to step into the role of Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee on our Board. About the RoleAs Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee, your role is central to maintaining the integrity of our financial oversight. Youll work alongside the Board to ensure our reporting is transparent, our financial controls are robust, and that we meet all regulatory expectations.You will:Lead the Finance Committee in monitoring the Credit Unions financial performance, risk management, and audit arrangementsEnsure the accuracy of our financial reporting and the effectiveness of internal controlsSupport the Board in holding the Executive Team accountable for financial and strategic performanceWork closely with fellow Board Members and our auditors to maintain high standards of governance This isnt an executive or advisory role its about providing independent oversight, robust challenge, and sound judgement as a Non-Executive Director. What You Will Bring We are looking for someone with qualifications and proven experience in one or more of the following areas:Financial and management accountingFinancial risk management You do not need previous experience as a Treasurer or NED but you do need the ability to think independently, assess risk, and communicate clearly with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Your CommitmentInitially, you will need to commit around 1015 hours per month, reducing to 610 hours/month after induction. This includes:Attending quarterly in-person Board meetings and virtual committee sessionsParticipating in training and development activitiesContributing to relevant strategic projects as required We value your time and contribution and we make sure its worthwhile.
