Job Description

As a Baker , you will play a key role within one of Londons most exceptional pastry kitchens. Our dedicated pastry department features its own large bakery and chocolate rooman inspiring environment for any passionate baker. Every day, our team produces all bread, pastries, and sweet creations fully in-house, from our decadent afternoon teas to freshly baked viennoiserie, artisan bread, cakes, and handmade chocolates. Your Role As a Baker , you will work closely under the guidance of our Executive Pastry Chef and Head Baker , supporting the daily production of bakery items while contributing your own creativity and craftsmanship. You will be part of a talented and diverse pastry brigade known for its blend of British quality and refined international influencesItalian, French, and beyond. Your work will reflect Caf Royals commitment to excellence, heritage, and contemporary elegance. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and production of a full range of bakery items, including: Artisan breads served across the hotels restaurants Viennoiserie such as croissants, pain au chocolat, pain aux raisins, and Danish pastries Specialty items and seasonal baked goods Handle all types and grades of flour, ensuring ingredients are sourced and used to the highest standards. Maintain consistent quality and presentation, ensuring all baked products reflect Caf Royals standards of luxury and craftsmanship. Work collaboratively within the Pastry team, contributing ideas for new products and improvements. Ensure a clean, hygienic, and well-organized bakery environment at all times. Follow recipes, production schedules, and quality guidelines as directed by senior pastry leadership. Your Profile Experience: 12 years experience in a similar bakery or pastry role, ideally within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant. Education: Professionally trained with NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery or Patisserieand ideally a specialism/qualification in Professional Bakery. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of artisan bread, dough handling, lamination, and viennoiserie production. Culinary Exposure: Experience with French or modern European bakery styles is an advantage. Work Ethic: Reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about quality and innovation. Availability: Able to work early morning shifts ( starting at 5am ) and weekends. No night shifts required.
