The RoleAs our business continues to grow, we are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our experienced team.You will be responsible to evaluate client project specifications and drawings and provide accurate cost estimates for projects of all sizes ranging in value from 10k-3.5m The position plays a crucial role in ensuring our electrical projects are priced and budgeted effectively and completed within the established financial parameters.If this seems like something that would interest you, please get in touch.Duties & ResponsibilitiesReview and analyse project plans, specifications and electrical designs to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour and equipment.Prepare and present tender bid packs to clients at Client Tender Review meetings.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.Working with supply chain mechanical estimators to help produce robust and accurate M&E project tender bids.Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to determine the best value for the company and project.Prepare detailed written estimates, including breakouts for labour, materials and overhead costs.Assess potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns.Project site visits to assess any restrictions while tendering.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulations.Ensure estimates are aligned with client specifications, scope of work, and budget constraints.Provide support during the bidding process, including clarifying estimates and assisting with client enquiries.Track project costs during construction to ensure adherence to estimates, making adjustments as necessary.Maintain a comprehensive database of historical project data for future reference and cost comparison.What We Are Looking ForMotivated individual that can work as part of a team and to their own initiative.Ability to be proactive with tasks and dutiesExcellent communication skills and a proactive approach.Committed to following procedures and ensuring tasks are fully completed.Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detailAbility to use own initiative within the parameters of the role.Friendly positive attitude.Full UK Driving Licence.Desirable / BeneficialProven experience (5 years) as an electrical estimator in a construction or electrical contracting environment.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials and installation practices.Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Trimble, Active Take-Off etc.)Familiarity in construction software (e.g. Amtech Trimble, Accubid, Procore etc.)Excellent understanding of construction codes, regulations and safety standardsExperience in setting up and using electronic document management systems.Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Good knowledge of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to multitaskBENEFITS(subject to a successful completion of probationary period)Competitive salary and benefits packagePrivate HealthcareCompany Pension SchemePlease Note:Due to the overwhelming number of applications we receive, we may only contact candidates who have been shortlisted for an interview.We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if the demand in applications become high.We are an equal opportunity employer.
