With a solid regional footprint throughout the North and Midlands, coupled with a consistent track record of delivering projects on time and to exacting standards, our client has earned a distinguished reputation for reliability and excellence.The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to play a crucial role as part of the commercial team, managing the financial and contractual aspects of a £100m new build high-rise residential development in Leeds. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets, conducting comprehensive tender evaluations, and administering contracts with contractors and suppliers. Through meticulous cost control and strict adherence to contractual requirements, you will contribute significantly to ensuring the project is delivered on schedule and within the established budget.What We’re Looking ForExperience:Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering high-rise residential projects with build values exceeding £30 million.Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in a similar position for a well-known contractor or subcontractorPrevious experience of operating within a Quantity Surveyor role or similar, working closely with the commercial teamKey Skills:IT skillsEffective time managementSuperb negotiation capabilitiesAnalytical and Mathematical skillsExcellent sales and presentation skillsAbility to multitask and prioritise projectsStrong communication and attention to detailsUnderstanding of construction laws and regulationsThe ability to accurately estimate the costs associated with the projectA solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniquesKey ResponsibilitiesProcurementAnalysis of tender allowancesLiaise and report regularly into the Commercial ManagerCompiling material usage reports and reconciliation summariesGuide and develop Junior Quantity Surveyors and other team membersReview and appraise the budgetary implications of various design proposalsImplement structured cost control processes and financial oversight measuresAttend project meetings, offering expertise and guidance on cost-related mattersHandle cash flow management and provide regular financial reports for stakeholdersEstablish systems for cost reporting to monitor and manage project expenses effectivelyOversee the assessment and approval of progress payments to contractors and suppliersMaintain up to date, precise records of all financial transactions and project documentationPerform in-depth cost analyses and comprehensive feasibility studies for proposed projectsCollaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractorsControl and monitor project expenditures, overseeing alignment with the budgetary constraintsOversee the financial implications of design changes and negotiate any necessary adjustmentsDevelop detailed cost estimates and budgets for the project and incorporate them into the planning phaseCreate cost plans and projections, overseeing efficient budget management throughout the duration of the projectEngage and negotiate contract terms and conditions with contractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgetary constraintsMaintain strict adherence to all contract terms, conditions, and specifications throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining alignment with project goals and client expectationsEnsure all financial matters are settled and effectively closed out, maintaining meticulous records for comprehensive project closureMonitor project risks associated with cost and financial aspects, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issuesWhy Join?Benefit from a supportive and collaborative work environment focused on employee developmentA great opportunity to join a rapidly growing and innovative company with a strong industry reputationContact Details:Contact: James Shorte (Associate Director) or Thomas Robertshaw (Resourcer) at Caval – 0113 203 1245
