Principal Designer - CDM & Building RegulationsIs this the role you are looking for If so read on for more details, and make sure to apply today.Location: Multiple Yorkshire Locations | Hybrid Working AvailableAn established, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced and driven Principal Designer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong grounding in both CDM and Building Regulations to work across a varied and high-profile project portfolio, delivering compliance and advisory services to a wide-ranging client base.The RoleYou will take a leading role in providing both CDM Principal Designer services and Building Regulations compliance support across a variety of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, defence and residential. Working closely with clients, design teams and contractors, you will ensure that health, safety and regulatory obligations are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce and review Pre-Construction Information, Design Risk Registers, Construction Phase Plans and Health & Safety FilesProvide clear guidance to clients, designers and contractors on their duties under the CDM Regulations 2015Support clients in navigating Building Regulations compliance, advising on regulatory submissions, gateway processes and the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022Act as Principal Designer under both CDM and, where applicable, Building Regulations frameworksChair Design Team Meetings to ensure design risks and compliance considerations are captured and managed effectivelyReview RAMS and develop Risk Assessments tailored to client requirementsCarry out site safety visits and produce detailed reports, including corrective action trackersPrepare clear, client-facing project reports and compliance documentationAttend site and project meetings, representing the consultancy professionallyDevelop your consultancy expertise in line with evolving regulation and client needsWhat We're Looking ForCMaPS qualified or actively working towards this accreditation; APS membership strongly preferredIOSH membership desirableSound knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and demonstrable experience acting as Principal Designer and/or CDM AdvisorGood understanding of the Building Regulations process, including knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and gateway regimeExperience of working across multiple sectors and project typesStrong project management skills, with the ability to identify client needs and deliver practical, tailored solutionsCapable of communicating regulatory requirements clearly to stakeholders at all levelsExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and professional approachLogical, practically minded, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamFull UK driving licenceWhat's on OfferCompetitive, negotiable salary based on experience xjdpvnf Payment of professional membership feesHybrid working arrangementsEmployer pension contribution of 8.68%Company phone and laptopClear and structured career progression within a growing practice25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (inclusive of Christmas shutdown)An additional day off on your birthdayAnnual staff day and a social fund supporting team activities throughout the yearCycle to work schemeEmployee referral programme If you have a strong background in CDM and Building Regulations compliance and are looking to join a supportive, forward-thinking consultancy with an excellent benefits package, we would be delighted to hear from you.Calibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
