This role presents an excellent opportunity for an individual with some experience in packaging development or R&D to grow and develop within a supportive and innovative environment. Working closely with senior team members, the successful candidate will contribute to packaging projects across various categories, gaining exposure to strategic initiatives while building technical and project management skills. This position is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career and develop into a future leader in packaging innovation.Main ObjectivesSupport the development and implementation of packaging concepts and technologies within assigned product categories or projects.Assist internal teams and customers with packaging-related queries and tasks.Contribute to New Product Development (NPD) and product changes by supporting packaging activities and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.Stay informed about packaging trends to help identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.Key Tasks, Skills, and ResponsibilitiesParticipate in cross-functional projects such as NPD, packaging updates, supplier changes, and quality improvements.Carry out factory trials to define process control parameters and verify packaging standards, ensuring alignment with Product Design specifications.Assist in planning and conducting packaging tests and trials (lab, production line, or external).Help maintain packaging specifications, master data, and documentation in line with internal and regulatory standards.Coordinate with external agencies and suppliers to complete all activities required for artwork approval.Support innovation efforts by gathering feedback and conducting basic market research.Attend relevant industry events to build knowledge of packaging trends and technologies.Share ideas and updates with stakeholders across departments including marketing, sales, R&D, and supply chain.Contribute to internal workshops and initiatives related to sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.Collaborate with colleagues to ensure packaging solutions are practical and aligned with project goals.Competent in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.Familiarity with SAP for packaging data management is a plus.Prior experience or education in packaging, with understanding of materials and technologies.Compensation & RewardsSalary £45-£47K per annum2 x Life AssuranceScottish Widows PensionMedi Cash Health and Discount PlanEmployee Assistance ProgrammeLong Service Awards 5,10,15,20,25 yearsHolidays extras scheme
