As Ethical Trading Manager, you'll play a critical role in protecting the people behind the food, strengthening workers rights across our supply chains and helping us live up to our responsibilities as a major UK retailer. This is a role with real influence. You'll lead our Ethical Trading strategy, identify and manage human rights risks across a complex supply chain. Working hands on with suppliers, colleagues and external partners to drive meaningful, long term improvements. When issues arise, you'll be at the centre of our response, guiding the business, safeguarding our reputation and, most importantly, helping improve working conditions where it matters most. What you'll be doing: Shaping and leading Morrisons' Ethical Trading and human rights strategy, making sure it's practical, robust and embedded into the business. Identifying key human rights risks in our supply chains and running a compliance programme that protects workers and meets industry standards. Working closely with colleagues across the business to integrate Ethical Trading requirements in everyday ways of working. Leading engagement with suppliers and manufacturing, ensuring our standards are understood, monitored and evidenced. Manage and develop the team, providing clear direction and support. Lead Morrisons engagement with relevant external programmes, networks and governments to drive human rights improvements and manage ethical risk. Lead an internal, senior level Human Rights Working Group to support the delivery of our wider ESG programme (Sustain). Communicate and report on progress to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure the fulfilment of regulatory requirements (e.g. Modern Slavery Act statement) and horizon scan for emerging risks and legislative obligations. About you For this role we're looking for someone who brings expertise, credibility and a genuine commitment to human rights. You will have: Significant experience in ethical trading or human rights within food retail or FMCG. Strong experience working with regulators and external third parties. Deep knowledge of ethical trading and human rights risks, trends and best practice, including competitor approaches. The confidence and influence to lead complex programmes and bring stakeholders with you. Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent Morrisons credibly both internally and externally. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to turn data into insights and actions.
