As an award-winning Yorkshire law firm, our reputation is built upon offering our clients an excellent, tailored service that provides them with clear, pragmatic advice.Our real estate lawyers act for a diverse range of clients, including property developers, investors, and lenders; utility companies and registered housing providers; commercial landlords and tenants; and public and third sector organisations such as schools and healthcare bodies. The team now have a new vacancy for an experienced legal secretary to join them in our Bradford office. The role The role will involve providing full secretarial support, working closely with the entire team, and undertaking administrative tasks such as monthly billing activities, supporting credit management processes, and providing any relevant financial information as required. The role will also involve applying for searches, completing SDLT forms, handling Land Registry applications, and post-completion formalities (such as file closure and archiving). This means you will need proven secretarial experience, preferably in commercial property/real estate work. What we’re looking for Ideally, you will be familiar with day-to-day processes and accustomed to using online services such as the Land Registry Portal. It is essential that you possess first-class organisational skills and can communicate effectively and efficiently with people at various levels. You must possess excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office and case management systems (ideally P4W) and be fully adept at typing dictation and general document management, including using styles, automatic and outline numbering, track changes etc. From time to time, you might also need to support other secretaries or lawyers within the Real Estate group in our other offices and more widely in other practice areas, so being flexible and adaptable is important too. You must have a professional, accurate and methodical approach to work and enjoy a busy workload. You will need to demonstrate initiative, be proactive, and, most importantly, you should enjoy working as part of a team.
