Job DescriptionTechnician - Cell Biology (Glasshouse)Location: BracknellPay Rate: 14.20 per hour (PAYE)Contract: 6 months (Initially)Hours: 36 hours per weekAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Technician to join the BA Cell Biology team at the Research Centre. This role will support production and supply activities within a dynamic glasshouse environment.The successful candidate will be responsible for operating equipment, supporting trial work, ensuring timely availability of samples, and maintaining high standards of quality. Depending on experience, this role can be suitable for both entry-level candidates (with training provided) and those with prior horticultural or agricultural experience.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate glasshouse and laboratory equipment in line with defined procedures and/or broad frameworks.Support trial work to ensure samples are prepared, maintained, and delivered on time.Resolve routine issues with appropriate guidance (entry-level) or minimal supervision (experienced).Work collaboratively within the team to ensure smooth workflow and delivery of objectives.Maintain attention to detail and accuracy across all tasks to ensure high-quality output.Skills & Experience RequiredExperience working in a horticultural or agricultural production environment (preferred, not essential for entry-level).Awareness of plant growth and care requirements in a glasshouse environment.Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.High attention to detail with a commitment to quality.Strong communication skills and ability to work towards team goals.
