Job Description Are you a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for more influence, variety, and long-term progression within a growing consultancy?I'm currently supporting a well-established but expanding consultancy in the Midlands that is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role across a diverse portfolio of major projects. This position offers the opportunity to move beyond pure delivery into a more advisory-led role, working closely with clients on commercial strategy and project performance.The RoleThis is a broad and influential position where you'll take ownership of the commercial function across multiple projects, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring strong financial and contractual control throughout.Responsibilities will include:Developing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost reportingProviding strategic commercial input from early-stage planning through to completionManaging contract administration across a range of standard forms (including NEC)Leading on change management, variations, and dispute avoidanceReviewing and negotiating contractor submissions and commercial positionsSupporting procurement activities, including tender evaluation and contract selectionBuilding strong relationships with clients and project stakeholdersContributing to the development of internal processes and best practiceSupporting and guiding junior team membersAbout YouExperience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level within the built environment (infrastructure, energy, or major projects)Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence project outcomesGood working knowledge of NEC or similar contract formsDegree-qualified in a relevant disciplineMRICS qualified or working towards (desirable, not essential)Confident communicator who enjoys a client-facing roleAble to manage a varied workload across multiple projectsWhat's on Offer65,000 - 75,000 salary depending on experienceMidlands-based role with flexible / hybrid workingExposure to a varied project portfolio offering real breadth and challengeClear pathway for progression as the business continues to growSupport with professional development and chartershipA collaborative, close-knit team environment where your input is valuedThis role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, building client relationships, and having a genuine impact on project outcomes-rather than simply managing the numbers.If you're open to hearing more, I'd be happy to share further details in confidence.Apply: ContactHayley Woodruff on 07897069216 or apply with your CV to Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
