Accounts Manager

Job Description Accounts Manager We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to lead the finance function within a busy professional services environment. This is a hands-on role combining operational finance management, compliance, and team leadership.The Role You will oversee all aspects of the accounts function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. You will manage a small accounts team while working closely with senior stakeholders to support the financial performance of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, billing, credit control, client and office accounts, payroll and petty cashEnsure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and HMRC requirementsOversee bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and month-end processesReview and approve payments, transfers, and completion statementsProduce management accounts, budgets, and financial reportsSupport year-end accounts preparation and audit processesMonitor WIP, billing and debt recovery in collaboration with fee earnersLead, mentor, and develop the accounts team, including recruitment where requiredMaintain strong internal controls and continuously improve finance processesAct as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the businessAbout You Essential:Minimum 2 years experience in a legal accounts / legal cashiering environmentStrong working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts RulesExperience managing client and office accounts, bank reconciliations, payroll and VATProven people management experienceHigh level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detailConfident communicator with the ability to work under pressureDesirable:Bookkeeping or finance qualificationILFM accreditation / Legal Cashier registrationExperience managing a small finance teamWhats on OfferA key leadership role within a growing organisationOpportunity to shape and improve finance processesSupportive working environment with senior stakeholder exposureCompetitive salary and benefits package If you are interested in this opportunity and you think you have the experience for this role, please apply with your CV.
