The number of working hours may increase or decrease depending on the amount of use taking place at the venue during community lettings periods.JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a reliable, enthusiastic Caretaker / Handyperson who can act as a keyholder for the property, carrying out facilities maintenance, maintaining equipment and keeping the premises clean and tidy whilst delivering a first-class service for customers booking the venue.Working as the Caretaker / Handyperson you will report to the Head of Business Service and will be responsible for holding keys to the site, opening and closing the facilities safely, and overseeing lettings to ensure the premises remain clean, secure and welcoming for all users .As Caretaker / Handyperson you will play a vital part in maintaining equipment, liaising with contractors, and delivering excellent customer service.Flexibility is essential as the role involves working evenings, weekends and during school holidays to meet the needs of the lettings arrangements.DUTIESYour duties and responsibilities as the Caretaker / Handyperson will include:Hold keys to the school sites, ensuring facilities are opened and secured safely before and after community lettings bookingsMaintain, check and set up equipment, and ensure all areas are clean, tidy and presentable for community useProvide excellent customer service by showing clients around, resolving queries or issues, and ensuring bookings run smoothlyLiaise with cleaning teams and contractors, carry out basic cleaning as needed, and ensure facilities meet expected standards after useFollow all school policies and procedures, including health and safety, fire safety and First Aid provision during lettingsCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSExperience working in a customer focussed environmentEffective communication skills both written and oralA thorough practically based understanding of premises maintenance issuesAn understanding of health, safety and security issues and relevant legislation affecting schoolsBe willing to work on a shift/rotational basis which includes evening, weekends and school holidaysAn ability to establish good working relationshipsPre-employment checksThe organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
