We are currently working in partnership with an award-winning construction consultancy firm based in Birmingham, who are looking to appoint a Deputy Head of Fire Consultancy on a permanent contract.These will be a full-time position based in Birmingham, with hybrid working and a salary between £55,000 - £75,000 dependent on the candidate’s experience for the role.The successful candidate will display excellent organisational skills, solid technical competency and outstanding communication skills. This position is considered an excellent route for capable candidates seeking to progress into a leadership role.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Managing the successful delivery of existing fire consultancy projects including pre-occupation FRAs, compartmentation surveys, fire door surveys, Type 2 and Type 4 FRAs, BS 9997 management reviewsSupporting on operational, financial and commercial performance whilst being pro–active in tendering for and securing new business opportunitiesAssisting with the interpretation of financial reporting, revenue forecasts and cost budgetsEnsuring that the delivery of the work in such a manner that deadlines are met, the end-to-end processes are managed and continually improved with respect to safety, quality and environment, customer service and profitProviding technical assistance to other site-based staff and colleagues, and play an integral part in the preparation and delivery of staffExperience required:Professional fire safety accreditation with IFSM, IFE or equivalentExperience and understanding of the full range of fire safety legislation building regulations, BS standards & building safety billExperience and understanding of the factors affecting the fire safety industry at present, with a specific focus on the residential / social housing sectorSkills, knowledge and expertise required:Understanding the technical and design outcome requirements of projects and ability to ensure compliance with the relevant technical and health, safety and environmental standardsKnowledge key reports relating to job profitability, revenue forecasting, invoicing, employee productivity and aged debtorsRewards and Benefits:Hybrid workingFlexible working daysProgression into leadership roleWorking hours:37.5 hours per weekMonday – Friday9am-5pmPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
