Job Description Sales Manager (Food Import & Distribution)Location: Birmingham (HQ) (field-based)Job Type: Full-time, PermanentWorking style: Hybrid (mix of field sales and Birmingham HQ)Salary: Competitive basic + bonus + car allowance/company car (DOE) = 45K - 60K Depending on experienceAbout Pathos Continental FoodsPathos Continental Foods is a fast-growing Direct Importer and Distributor of quality food products. Established in 2022, we supply customers across the United Kingdom and beyond, serving Foodservice, Horeca, Contract Catering and Food Manufacturing. Were building a high-performing sales team and looking for a hands-on Sales Development Manager to help scale growth.The RoleYou will manage and develop a team of Sales Executives while also driving growth by winning new business and expanding key accounts. Youll report to the Head of Sales & Operations and work closely with Procurement and Operations to ensure customers get great service and the right products.Key ResponsibilitiesCoach, manage and develop a team of Sales Executives (targets, activity, pipeline, negotiation, closing)Lead weekly 1:1s, pipeline reviews and field coaching to improve performanceBuild new business across:Foodservice / WholesaleHoreca (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafs)Contract CateringFood Manufacturing / IngredientsCreate a structured growth plan: target accounts, outreach cadence, meetings booked, proposals, conversionsGrow existing key accounts through range expansion, promotions and relationship managementKeep CRM/pipeline reporting accurate and deliver clear forecastsWork with operations on availability, lead times, ordering patterns and customer expectationsWhat Were Looking ForEssential36 years sales experience (Sales Executive / Account Manager / Junior Sales Manager) ready to step upExperience selling in a food-related environment (foodservice, wholesale, manufacturing supply, hospitality supply)Proven ability to win new accounts and develop relationshipsComfortable coaching others (formal management experience helpful but not required)Strong commercial skills: negotiation, margin awareness, account planningFull UK driving licenceDesirableKnowledge of import/distribution (lead times, MOQs, pricing structures)Experience using a CRM and managing a structured pipelineContacts/experience in the West Midlands food tradeWhat Youll GetCompetitive package: basic salary + uncapped commission+ bonusCar allowance Private Pension ContributionHybrid working: time in the field + Birmingham HQ supportA clear progression opportunity in a business thats scaling quicklyHigh autonomy, fast decision-making, and direct impactHow to ApplyApply with your CV and include a short note on your food-sector sales background - [email protected] & [email protected]
