Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Dermatology

Overview The post of Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Dermatology at Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Trust provides 12 months of supervised experience for individuals intending to practice as a dermatologist with a special interest in paediatric dermatology or for paediatricians with an interest in paediatric dermatology wishing to develop their experience further/work towards SPIN accreditation. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a minimum of one-year general dermatology experience.ResponsibilitiesShare in the provision of a secondary and tertiary paediatric dermatology service including covering outpatient clinics, inpatient admissions, ward consultations, telephone advice; booked admissions for investigations and day cases, and supervision of nurse activity.Participate in the day-to-day running of the national paediatric EB service.Provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of leave and short-term sickness absence (no out-of-hours on-call commitment).Take part in supporting professional activity time including CPD, undergraduate, postgraduate and GP teaching, and participate in audit.Attend appropriate educational activities with Resident Doctors on the West Midlands Dermatology Rotation, including the monthly regional clinical meeting, monthly training meetings, and the Midlands Dermatological Society meetings and the Midlands Dermatopathology Group (3 meetings per year).Qualifications and RequirementsMinimum of one-year general dermatology experience.Interest in paediatric dermatology with a view to developing experience and/or SPIN accreditation.Additional Information Birmingham Children's Hospital is a leading paediatric centre; our Trust is committed to creating the best place to work and to promoting inclusion, diversity and equality.
