WMJobs Birmingham, England, United KingdomBirmingham City Council,Educational Psychology - Assistant Psychologist Permanent Contract Grade 4 - £34,434 - £41,771 Working 36.5 hours per weekThe Educational Psychology Service is seeking assistant psychologists to support educational psychology work in Birmingham. The city has a diverse population and a large youth population. Assistant psychologists will work alongside educational psychologists to meet the demand for services and contribute to service priorities and development projects.The service has a strong commitment to innovation, quality improvement, research and development, and is involved in initiatives such as SCERTS, ELSA, VIG, VERP, MeLSA, Trauma Informed Attachment Aware Schools and Restorative Practice. Some assistants may undertake designated roles in specific projects.We have a history of working with schools since 2011 and offer a range of experiences for psychology graduates with substantial experience working with children and young people in educational contexts. Opportunities include locality-based or city-wide casework, development work, research, training delivery, and involvement in statutory work.We are looking for people with good undergraduate or postgraduate psychology degree qualifications (GBC eligibility), who are committed to applying psychological knowledge to promote positive educational, social and emotional outcomes for children and young people in the city. We want colleagues who are well organised, good communicators, able to manage their own workload and committed to partnership working.The service is committed to professional development and offers a friendly, supportive environment with active collaboration and peer supervision.
