RE and PSHE Teacher Secondary School (Central Birmingham) Contract: Long-term / Full-time Location: Central Birmingham Start: Immediate or as soon as possible Salary: Competitive rates of pay, based on experience and qualifications Overview: A vibrant and diverse secondary school in central Birmingham is seeking a committed and adaptable RE and PSHE Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Religious Education and Personal, Social, Health & Economic (PSHE) lessons, promoting a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Teach engaging and challenging RE and PSHE lessons across KS3 and KS4. Deliver a curriculum that fosters critical thinking, cultural awareness, personal development, and emotional wellbeing. Plan, prepare, and assess students work in line with school and national guidelines. Monitor pupil progress and provide effective feedback and support. Create a safe, respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and open discussion. Contribute to the development of the RE and PSHE curriculum and related enrichment activities. Participate in staff meetings, CPD training, pastoral duties, and whole-school initiatives. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching RE and/or PSHE within a UK secondary school (strong knowledge of both subjects preferred). Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and engage them in sensitive and thought-provoking topics. Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour-management skills. Commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and promoting the schools values. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
