JOB DETAILS JOB BAND: E CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Full-time DEPARTMENT: Group Tax, BBC Finance & Operations LOCATION: Office base can be Birmingham, Cardiff, London or Salford - Hybrid PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 90,000 - 93,000pa depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE We're now seeking an Employment Tax Business Partner to join the BBC. This role sits in Group Tax reporting to the Group Tax Director. WHY JOIN THE TEAM This role sits in Group Tax reporting to the Group Tax Director. Group Tax is made up of tax business partners, who manage corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes and expatriate taxes; accountants and business analysts who support the TBPs. There are also tax mangers in the US and India, who support with taxes in those jurisdictions. The BBC offers a complex and dynamic environment that provides excellent technical development through exposure to a wide range of issues and interaction with a number of stakeholders, both internally and externally YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT: As the Employment Tax Business Partner , you will: Providing strategic oversight and technical review of tax returns and statutory filings, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations. Provide advice and support relating to the employment tax (ET) issues of our UK and overseas businesses. Enhancing, automating, and streamlining tax processes while supporting compliance, controls, regulatory financial reporting, and related procedures, including Senior Accounting Officer and internal financial reporting controls. Represent the BBC Group with all external agencies, in its dealings with ET to include HMRC, overseas tax authorities, external and internal auditors, professional advisors and lawyers, freelancers and suppliers. Provide proactive and pragmatic ET input on new initiatives, business line expansion and strategic plans across all business units (including ERP systems upgrades, transactions, setting up offices in new territories). Work closely with and influence senior management to drive business performance via the provision of objective advice, insight and challenge, effectively acting as a catalyst for change. To manage a team member in a way that promotes accountability, engagement, and motivation, while supporting their wellbeing and aligning their outputs with team and business objectives. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL: You will possess and demonstrate significant employment tax experience and proven experience of providing employment tax advice in a complex organisation . In-house experience is essential for this position. Professional accounting and/or tax qualification ACA, ATT, CTA or equivalent. A track record in managing tax compliance, reporting and planning for multinational businesses. This will be supported by strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex tax regulations to keep abreast of UK tax law and its application, specifically the spirit and intention of the law. Demonstrate expertise in taxation technology systems and supporting enhancement projects. You will have a clear understanding of appropriate processes and controls required in a global organisation, for the management of taxes, including experience of tax controversy and proficiency in tax compliance software and financial reporting systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
