Job DescriptionJob Title: Senior Contracts Manager / Contracts DirectorSector: Residential GroundworksLocation: West MidlandsSalary: 120,000 - 150,000 + packageCompany Overview:Our client is a rapidly growing Residential groundworks contractor specialising in civil and groundworks packages for Residential Housebuilders. With a proven track record and an impressive portfolio, they have successfully completed projects ranging from 1 million to 4 million. Currently valued at 30 million, the company is expanding rapidly and offers excellent career growth opportunities, including the potential for directorship and share ownership in the future.Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager / Contracts Director to oversee three projects in the West Midlands region. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of these projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, adherence to project schedules, and effective cost management. The ideal candidate will have a technical or engineering background and a strong understanding of groundworks and civil engineering in the commercial construction sector.Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the execution of three projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure smooth project delivery.Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and proactively address any delays or issues to ensure timely project completion.Implement effective cost control measures, monitor project budgets, and work closely with the Quantity Surveyor to manage variations and claims.Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, quality standards, and safety protocols.Provide technical guidance and support to the project teams, resolving technical issues and ensuring the appropriate use of materials, equipment, and techniques.Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among project teams.Monitor and report on project performance, highlighting key metrics, risks, and opportunities to senior management.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role in the commercial construction industry, with a focus on groundworks and civil engineering.Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and drawings.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, technical documents, and construction plans.Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance on construction sites.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Proficient in using project management software and tools.Willingness to travel to project sites across the West Midlands region.If this opportunity is of interest, please apply and a representative will contact you shortly after.
