Position: Chartered Geotechnical DesignerLocation: Birmingham, UKType: PermanentTeam: Design – Infrastructure (Tunnels, Rail, Roads, Civil)Overview:We’re looking for a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer to play a key technical role in our UK infrastructure projects. The role involves ownership of geotechnical design from initial investigation through to construction support, and offers the opportunity to shape a growing capability within a supportive, globally connected team.What You’ll Be Doing:Leading geotechnical design for major infrastructure projects (rail, roads, tunnels)Planning and interpreting ground investigationsDesigning foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, and slope stability solutionsCollaborating with structural and civil teams across the UK and globallySupporting temporary and permanent worksProviding input into risk management and buildability during constructionMentoring junior geotechnical staff and guiding project deliveryWhat We’re Looking For:Chartered Engineer (CEng, MICE or equivalent)10–15 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering and analysisExperience delivering UK infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with PLAXIS, WALLAP, PILEGROUP, SLOPE/W or similar softwareStrong technical background and ability to communicate complex design conceptsDesire to help shape and grow the UK geotechnical function
