Job Description Contentious Trusts & Probate SolicitorLocation: West MidlandsPosition: (NQ - 4PQE)Firm: Legal 500Department: Dispute Resolution Contentious Trusts & ProbateThe OpportunityAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or an associate solicitor to join a well-established regional law firm with a strong reputation in private client disputes. The successful candidate will become part of a highly regarded contentious trusts and probate team, advising on a broad range of complex and high-value matters.The RoleYou will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on a varied caseload of contentious probate and trust disputes. This role offers exposure to high-quality work and direct client contact from an early stage.Key responsibilities will include:Advising clients on disputes relating to wills, trusts, and estatesHandling claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975Managing disputes involving executors, trustees, and beneficiariesAssisting with cases involving undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, and fraudDrafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondenceEngaging in alternative dispute resolution, including mediationSupporting senior team members on complex litigation mattersCandidate RequirementsQualified solicitor (or due to qualify imminently) in England & WalesSeat experience in contentious probate, litigation, or private client disputesStrong technical knowledge and a keen interest in contentious trusts and probate workExcellent drafting and communication skillsCommercial awareness and a client-focused approachAbility to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a teamWhats on OfferHigh-quality work within a supportive and collaborative teamClear opportunities for career progressionCompetitive salary and benefits packageOngoing professional development and trainingIf this is of interest, please get in touch with Rory Brand at Simpson Judge today for a highly confidential chat.
