Our client is looking for an experienced and driven Purchasing Manager to oversee both the Purchasing and Stores Teams, ensuring materials are delivered on time to meet production demands. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the implementation of a new ERP system, working closely with the Finance Director to successfully lead its rollout across the organisation.Key Responsibilities:Develop strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, delivery, and quality agreementsEnsure timely material availability by effectively managing supplier lead times and mitigating risks to productionCollaborate with Quality Engineers to monitor supplier performance and identify new supplier opportunitiesMaintain optimal stock levels aligned with production requirements and budgetary goalsDrive continuous improvement across procurement and stores functions, introducing robust processes and proceduresRepresent the function in cross-departmental production and project meetingsLead, mentor, and develop team members, supporting their ongoing training and professional developmentSkills & Experience Required:Proven experience in a Purchasing or Procurement role within an Engineering or Manufacturing environmentDemonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teamsHands-on experience with ERP/MRP system implementationStrong supplier management and negotiation skillsAnalytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-makingPassionate about continuous improvement and driving operational excellenceOur client offers a supportive and inclusive working environment, with strong values at the core of their business culture.
