Design System Lead (Contract or Full-Time)Location: Remote / FlexibleWe are seeking a Design System Lead with deep expertise in atomic, token-based design systems in Figma. This role can be structured as either contractor or full-time, depending on your availability and fit.You will be responsible for building scalable, token-driven Figma web design systems that ensure consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across global brand projects.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain a token-based design system in Figma (colors, spacing, typography, grids, and motion tokens)Leverage Figma variables to create scalable, adaptable design structuresDevelop components, variants, auto layouts, and interactive prototypes for reusability and consistencyLead the end-to-end design system implementation across multiple web projectsPartner closely with designers and developers to ensure seamless handoff and system adoptionAct as the subject matter expert on atomic design methodologies and design system best practicesContinuously refine the system to evolve with new features, technologies, and brand needsStay ahead of design tooling trends, variable management, and system scaling techniquesQualificationsExpert-level experience in building atomic, token-based design systems in FigmaAdvanced proficiency with Figma components, variants, auto layout, interactive prototyping, and variablesExperience creating scalable component libraries and design tokens for global web projectsStrong understanding of design tokens → code workflows (integration into HTML/CSS/JS)Solid grasp of responsive design, grid systems, and accessibility standards (WCAG)Strong understanding of typography principles and building type scales in design systemsKnowledge of motion principles and ability to define micro-interactions within systemsExcellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with developers and stakeholdersAttention to detail and consistency at scaleSelf-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaborativelyBachelor’s degree in Design (or equivalent professional experience)Why Join UsFlexible working setup: remote or hybridOpportunity to build world-class web design systems for global brandsCollaborative, design-driven environment
