Interconnection Manager – Grid Compliance – Battery Energy Storage – Remote UK with occasional travel – Contract to Nov 2027 – Outside IR35 OverviewWe are currently working with an IPP soon to deliver two large-scale BESS projects in the UK. With the Connection Agreement already secured, you will lead grid-connection delivery and compliance, owning Grid Code/G99, ION/FON readiness and Elexon metering/settlements, while interfacing with NESO/NGESO, SPEN and delivery partners.Key Responsibilities:Lead grid-connection delivery and compliance from Connection Agreement to energisation/commissioning.Act as the primary interface with NESO/NGESO, SPEN and metering bodies.Plan and evidence milestones to achieve ION/FON, including hold points and witness testing.Deliver Elexon BMU registration, CoP compliance, MOP/DC/DA appointments, proving tests and MDD updates.Coordinate EPC/OE and subcontractors to fulfil Grid Code and permit requirements.Raise modification applications only if scope changes.Qualifications & Experience:Proven UK interconnection delivery with DNO/TSO interfaces (SPEN/SSEN desirable).Track record across ION/FON, G99/Grid Code and commissioning.Metering registration and Elexon processes experience.Strong stakeholder management and document control.Contract Details:Location: Remote UK, occasional London meetings every 2–4 weeks; travel to Scotland as required.Contract: To November 2027, with extension potential.Start: ASAP but can wait until the end of JanuaryIR35: Outside IR35If you have carried out a similar role in the past and would like to play a critical part in delivering the UK’s largest BESS project to date then please reach out to roman.floyd@
